More Catching Up and a Dick Blick Giveaway

Feeling a little yucky the past few days, not sure if it's a bug or a cold...just stuffy and fuzzy, a little stomach and headachey...I'm still trying to manage this heel spur that's kept me from running all winter, but after wearing my tennis shoes all day the last two days rather than going barefoot, that's seemed to help. I can walk on it better in the morning instead of hobbling painfully, gimping down the stairs. Maybe there's hope for me at last...fingers crossed! The weather is starting to warm up and I'm dying to get out and run again!! Not to mention I really need to get back in shape before beach weather and bathing suit season hits...Aaahh, beach!!!

After a quick bit of cleaning in the morning and a couple Aleve to stem off a threatening headache, I sat myself down to play for a while. I did another postcard for Mail Month and a couple pages in my Tangle a Day calendar:

Funky Town and a sample of Scales (originally created by Lyn Philips, I believe...)

I've been wanting to play with these three patterns for a while now--left to right: Puf by Carole Ohl, Cloves found on Pinterest, and Socc by Erin Olson
Still have quite a bit of catching up to do in the calendar, but it was really fun to tangle away the afternoon again, Order of the Phoenix keeping me company in the background...I do love Harry!

Today, more of the same after a trip to the grocery store. Ash is stopping by after work so we're having an early St Paddy's Day dinner, corned beef and cabbage--yum! That's about all the Irish I have in me...And I'm realizing I really need to get on the ball for Easter or a certain Mr. Bug will be without a basket this year--where is the time going?? 2013 needs to put on the brakes at least a little...it's all flashing by entirely too fast!

Oh! Before I forget--Dick Blick is giving away five $50 gift cards!! Click here to enter to win! Yay!

Because the Father never closes out His passion for reaching people, I pray that today you will pray for those in your world who have yet to meet Him. As you offer up the names of family members, friends, co-workers, may God see your heart for sharing the message with them. He will hear your earnest plea.

“God is fair; He will not forget the work you did
and the love you showed for Him by helping His people.”

AEDM-Day 9 (er, 5...)

Continuing on with AEDM--we should do this every month! Of course, there is a Creativity Every Day challenge...Just somedays it's hard to find the time to sit and play. And looking at the long weekend coming up so quickly here, I'm wondering just how much art I'll be able to accomplish over the next three days. Saturday we have the Father/Son bowling tournament then family adventuring after. Sunday, weather permitting, is more yard clean up from these storms that have dumped leaves and branches all over, and Monday Bugga's home from school for Veteran's Day. So he'll either be gone all day or I'll have a houseful of boys crammed in the office playing video games on the computer and eating everything in the fridge and snack cupboard...Then next weekend's Thanksgiving already! How can that possibly be?? I really need to get cracking on wrapping for Christmas... and baking! This time of year always flies by too fast....

Anyway, I wasn't completely happy with my first tile response to the Diva's Weekly Challenge #94-UMT Socc and something in the auras made me think of Mi2, so I wanted to play with a combo of the patterns...and, I don't know, maybe I need more practice with Socc...it's still not quite what I was thinking of...
Then for Day Three of One Zentangle A Day, the patterns we were given were Poke Root (yes, I mislabled my sample as Poke Leaf but fixed it this morning after I saw it in the picture...my brain stops working after, well, it's not really worked all that well since Michael was born??...), Festune, and Hollibaugh. And my tile, with a little Tipple thrown in as well:

Ta-daaa! I do like this!
So, time for breakfast and some quality time on the treadmill before I get on with the day. Oh, I did make some great progress on the pet portrait as well yesterday (it was a good, good day!! And aren't you curious to see?? Haha!) Happy Friday everyone!! Thanks for stopping by and hopefully I'll have more to share tomorrow!
