Bill had taken the day off and we had plans to head to the RMV to bite the bullet and finally get our licenses, registrations, and titles all transferred ($450 later...ouch!! And we still have to pay the excise tax!!) Well, the driveway may have been clear but the snow plows had yet to make it through our neighborhood. My car got stuck in the snow about five feet out from our driveway and wasn't budging. Four guys pushing, two shovels digging, and a neighbor's snow blower later, we managed to get back into the driveway--and THEN! The snow plows came through...thanks guys...As they say in TN: 'preciate ya'!
We made it through the RMV fairly quickly, if not exactly painlessly. Most people opted to stay home and out of the weather, I guess. Wimps. Since we were in town and had finished up just in time for lunch, we headed to a little Mexican restaurant I've been wanting to try called No Problemo. Well, No Problemo if you carry cash (no checks or credit cards, please) and it isn't a bitter cold winter day! We had to trudge a few blocks in the blowing wind and wet to find an ATM, then upon arriving back at the restaurant learned they don't serve any hot beverages. What?? You're in New England! And it's winter! How could you not even have a coffee pot?? Fine. Whatever. Bill's Stinking Rose burrito was gianormous and delicious, Bug's beef taco yummo, and I just had their chips (not made there and it looked like they dumped the last of the bag into the bowl--pretty much all crumbs...so much for presentation...) with salsa, guacamole, sour cream and a side of black beans. Hey, it all gets crumbled up when you eat it anyway, right? Just not gonna hurry back again.
Another quick stop at Walmart for a birthday present for one of Bug's buddy's whose party is on Sunday, a run through Dunkin to get me something warm to drink (no thanks to No Problemo...seriously, they need to change their name to Lotso Problemos...) and then we found our way back home. Bill wrestled with the rusted on screws to put on our new license plates then took both cars up for inspection stickers (Locals already probably know this, but Joe & Perky's on the Ave...definitely the place to go!! Great guys, super great prices, quick service--maybe they should be called No Problemo....just sayin'...) Bug parked on the computer with his Minecraft and I pulled out the arting supplies to whip up a few more cards for National Letter Writing Month (I'm so excited!!)
To credit original artists I've borrowed these cute ideas from: Lori Vleigen-Hello sunshine, Caroline Rose the flowers and stars, then Stephanie Ackerman for the bottom two. |
I believe the birdie is also by Stephanie Ackerman but I couldn't find credit on Pinterest--it's totally her style, though...and another Caroline Rose on the bottom |
It's officially official!! |
I pray that today you will realize the gift of God’s love—the incomparable love of the Father for His child. Such a love! A love that you sense with the passing of the breeze and coolness of the air. A love that comes not from one on earth , but the incredible love from One in heaven.
“God is love. ‘Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in Him. Love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like Him.”
1 John 4:16, NIV
